Fly Directly into Sun Valley (SUN)

• Best for: Speed and convenience.

• Distance: ~20 minute drive to Ketchum/Sun Valley.

• Airlines: Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines - depending on the day!

• Shuttle Tips: Free shuttles via Mountain Rides are available to and from the SUN Airport to Ketchum and the Sun Valley Resort.

  • If you are staying at the Sun Valley Resort or the Limelight Hotel, they also offer a direct complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. Just contact them directly with your arrival and departure times in advance to arrange your ride!

Fly into Boise (BOI) & Drive

• Best for: More flexible schedules and lower airfare.

• Distance: ~2.5-hour drive (150 miles) to Ketchum/Sun Valley.

• Rent a Car: Enjoy a scenic drive through Idaho’s famous potato fields before winding up into the Wood River Valley.

  • There is no shuttle or bus service to and from the Boise airport, so your only option is to drive via rental car!

Make It a Road Trip!

If you'd like to turn the wedding into a bigger vacation, Idaho and the surrounding region offer incredible scenic routes and public lands:

• Driving from Seattle / PNW: The drive takes ~10 hours through eastern Washington/Oregon and southern Idaho.

• Sawtooth National Recreation Area & Redfish Lake: Located just 45 minutes north of Ketchum, ideal for camping, alpine lake hikes, boating, and rock climbing.

• Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks: Located ~4.5 hours east of Sun Valley.

  • If you want to make Yellowstone/Grand Teton the main focus before or after the wedding, consider flying into Bozeman, MT (BZN), renting a car (about 1.5 hours to the parks), and making your way over to Sun Valley from there. Be sure to book park tix early!
